Cindy

Cindy

Horse Care / Well-being & Trainer

Horses are Cindy’s passion, having ridden and cared for them for most of her life. She comes from a background of leading trail rides and holds a Riding Instructor Diploma. She is also close to completing a Certificate III in Performance Horse.

All facets of horse care are important to Cindy, especially being able to connect and understand each individual horse to enhance their health and mental well-being. After discovering her daughter’s pony was a scrambler back in 2014 and desperate to find a solution to this traumatic problem, hours of research saw her find John Chatterton Affiliative Horsemanship. She contacted John who personally came and solved the pony’s scrambling problem in a very short time. She decided then that this incredible training method was the one that resonated with her and with John has her mentor, has been studying and practicing this method ever since.

John’s method is based on affiliative horsemanship and creating a bond with your horse by becoming the horse’s comfort zone rather than the usual dominant leadership methods widely practised. John Chatterton’s Ten Steps can be used on any horse, including foals and starting youngsters. It can be used to solve many problems that people encounter; including but not limited to horses that:

  • are hard to catch
  • are not able to stand still
  • are pushy, nippy and hard to lead
  • are scared of sprays
  • have hose and floating problems

Horses are her passion and she now uses this ten step training method to start, retrain and help many horses of all ages, stages and life experiences.
